- Artisans needed
Belmont Rural parish council continues to have difficulty in finding moderately
skilled people to tackle smallish tasks round the estate - repairing noticeboards,
installing litter bins, etc. There's money in it if you're competent.
Use the website's email
service and we'll pass on your name to
the clerk

- Know anything about "nursechildren"?
Homes
for "nursechildren" (babies and children fostered, taken into
care or adopted) existed in Hereford thirty years ago at St Michael's
Convent in Bartestree (where the women worked in the laundry) and at St
Clare's Convent in Lower Bullingham. St Martins Home for unmarried mothers,
on the corner of Walnut Tree Avenue and Home Lane, was knocked down in
the late sixties. BBC Hereford and Worcester is keen to speak to women
who lived in the homes or people who were born there. Please write to
Nicola Goodwin or James McDonald at the Hereford Office, 43 Broad Street,
Hereford, HR4 9HH, phone 01432 355252 or e-mail nicola.goodwin@bbc.co.uk
No need to give your name or details if you'd like to remain confidential.
