BELMONT RURAL LETTERS

NCCA: Validity of Feb AGM
I would like to make a brief response to Glenys (email 334) concerning her opinion that calling a second AGM is invalid. May I draw her attention to the Charities Commision document CC48 para 20 which states "Charity trustees must make sure that their decisions are properly reached and actions carried out. If a decision is called into question at a later date, any mistake made in calling or running the meeting concerned, may result in the meeting being declared null and void, invalidating any decisions reached by it." I hope this clears up the calling of a new AGM.

At the end of the day a number of people (NCCA directors, members and Belmont residents) are genuinely concerned over issues highlighted at the AGM in February. All we are trying to do is protect the public funds that are being used and ensure that things are above board and transparent as all charitable organisations should be.
