BELMONT RURAL LETTERS

Scrap metal warning; planning
and roads issues info available
Please check that the imminent door-to-door collection service of scrap metals is a registered carrier for such items. You could be aiding and abetting a potential fly-tipper, possibly retaining saleable metals and dumping the remainder. I understand a collection van is expected during Saturday and Sunday, February 20 and 21. If in doubt, take a vehicle registration number and ring West Mercia police centre 0300 333 3000

A short, easily understood presentation from Herefordshire Council planning and regeneration representatives was gratefully accepted by the parish council last night (Thursday February 18) at Belmont's Northolme Centre. For those unable to attend, perhaps due to the awful winter weather conditions, I would be happy to share strategic planning and roads issues with you on a one-to-one basis through my district councillor role, if required.

Cllr Phil Edwards
Parish Watch
Chairman of Overview & Scrutiny
Local member Belmont Ward
February 19 2010
