BELMONT RURAL: OUR AIMS

About
this site

Parish Council matters plus...
The Belmont Rural Website has the same objectives as Belmont Voice, the quarterly community magazine, published between 2000 and 2004, devoted to official and unofficial coverage of people and events on the Belmont estate a mile to the southwest of Hereford city.

The main difference is that the magazine's printing and distribution costs were carried by Belmont Rural parish council. None of the website costs are attributable to the council.

Official coverage relates to the activities of the parish council which are flagged with the red BRpc logo. The remainder is written and/or compiled by the website editor, an estate resident.

The aim is to be interactive - a monumental target. This issue is further clouded by another Belmont website which, through no fault of its originator, has fallen into disuse. The editor of this site would have liked to have adapted that site but because it could not edited via broadband this was problematic. (Note: This confusion has been resolved. In February 2006 I got IT Systems and Service, Blackthorn Close, tel 351498, to create a re-direct from the old site to this one.)

So in the tradition of fledgling publications, the editor begs to hear voices other than his own. Use "Send or read an email", click here or email contribs@belmontrural co.uk.

PS - an ironic footnote. Websites require computers. The publicity posters dotted round the estate point out that Belmont Library has four computers, available for free, public use. Alas, the library security system may prevent email being transmitted from our local library to this website.
